There is a change in the offside rule.  FIFA now states that a player must touch the ball to be deemed interfering with play.  Additionally, a player may take an offside position provided he or she is not  "actively involved in play."  "Active play" is defined as:

  1. Touching the ball after it is passed by a team mate or rebounded off the post, crossbar, or opponent
  2. Preventing an opponent from being able to play the ball by obstructing the opponent's lines of vision or distracting him/her
